I am having an outlet (not electrical, but a cable termination) added to a room where there was previously none. The multiswitch is on the other side of the house. What is the most ideal way for them to get the cable from the switch over to that room? I certainly don't want them to wrap the cable around the house. Could they route it up the side of the house, drill through to the attic and then down through the wall? Any ideas are appreciated.

Who are you going to have do the work, and what arrangements (if any) have you made with them. If this is a "free" DirecTV install, expect the easiest and fastest way to do it (typically wrap around the outside). If you are hiring someone to do it, they should do exactly what you contract with them to do.

If you really want it clean, then you should have it fished up inside the wall (as opposed to drilling through to the outside then into the attic), pulled through the attic, then again fished through the wall to the multiswitch location. But that type of work is going to cost you a few bucks.

Yes, they can do that for an additional fee. Is the outlet going in an interior wall? Fifty dollars here in my neck of the woods for an interior wall.
