Since I'm a new customer my question is does this only apply to the HR34 or do other Directv customers who have older DVR models have to also pay the $20 a month advance receiver fee?

Also if I bought the HR34 outright for $399 from a legit dealer like solidsignal.com would I still be charged for the monthly advanced receiver fee?

Sorry guys I just noticed I was in the Directv programming forum. I thought I was in Directv General Discussion.

If you have HD & DVR service on your account you pay the ARS fee, and also get MRV, or whole home DVR service.
Older customers pay: HD $10, DVR $8, + MRV $3 = $21

Paying $399 for a HR34 from an "legit dealer", isn't an outright purchase price, but is a leased price.

Ok, so the $20 is basically what I pay now? Or would this be higher if I ever got one? I figured this was $20 for just the receiver service, not HD and whole home included.

New customers/accounts pay $1 less with the ARS than we're paying by having them [3] separately listed on our bill.

I checked my billing statement for this month and forgot that I get $10 off the Advanced Receiver fee for 24 months because I enrolled in auto bill pay.
