I recently received an HR22. Unfortunately, DirecTV cannot come out to do the install for about another 2 weeks. Right now I have a 2 dish SD configuration (locals in my area are on a separate dish from the others).

Because of logistical issues related to a new TV setup and running cables, I was wondering if it would be a problem to activate the HR22 now with the present dish configuration and then when the installer comes to change the dish, he can do what is necessary to setup for the new configuration?

You just have to go through satellite setup again, which you can do via the menu system.
