My R-15 is in the bedroom. I noticed a couple of times recently when I turned it and my tv on at night I can go backward and there is a 90 minute buffer on the last channel I viewed even though the receiver was just turned on. Is this a new feature? I wish my HD dvr did this.

The HD-DVR should do it as well, turning DVR receivers off really does not turn them off, it just turns off the outputs and front panel lights.

They added this feature about a year ago. Before that, the live buffer would be erased when you turned an R15 "off". Of course, if your R15 (or any DirecTV DVR) needs to use both tuners to honor recording requests, when you turn it on later the live buffer will be that of the channel the tuner was on to make the recording.

The HD DVR's (and the R22 in my case) used to REMEMBER what the last channel was you were watching and return to it after honoring recording requests, but that seems to have gone away and now the tuner stays on the last channel watched OR recorded.
