My unit has been acting weird of late. Channels don't change, banner display won't go away.......and my list of recorded programs is jumbled. I have been turning the unit off for a few minutes then back on and all seems well. But it's been almost an everyday occurrence lately. Today it just won't start up. I get the "hello your system is starting up" message then a quick flash then nothing. Been resetting it all day and leaving it un plugged for hours at a time and still nothing. Is there a way to force a boot up??? Or is all lost and time to buy a new machine. It's about a years or so old!Help!!!!!

Pulling the plug and repowering the DVR is the surest way to force a reboot. This DVR sounds like it's dead, though.

You can try the forced update, but I'm not optomisitic. The next step would be to do the reformat reset, but you'll lose all your recordings & SL settings. Both are outlined in the FAQ.
