Last week the r15 would not resopnd to the remote. Batterys good and the remote works with the D10. Did a reset and all worked well for a couple of days. Last night it did it agan and a 3 resets did not work. Checked this morning and it works. Has aneyone had this happen, it is looking like a hardware problem.:eek2:

What channel were you watching and was the unit in the screen saver mode. I have found mine to not respond when comming out of the screen saver while listening to the XM channels. Needed to wait about 15 minutes then the R15 would run quickly through what I pushed on the remote. After that all would work well untill I let the R15 enter a screen saver mode again.

When it happens, can you do anything with the front panel buttons? If not then it's just the standard lockup.

We were watching a recored program and the front panel buttons work.

It's not unheard of. Someone posted several months ago that the IR receiver went out on their unit.

It's not the IR sensor...it's a problem from the previous software that they still haven't fixed...if you call them, they'll tell you exactly what they told me..."we have to reformat the drive, this will fix the problem" then, "if you continue to have problems, then we will replace the unit"....I've been through it once before and that's exactly what they had me do. I had a R15-500, but when I got my replacement, it turned out to be an R15-300, which I'm proud to say, I've had for 5 months now and had no problems at all.

Similar problem started this week; seemed to freeze on one channel. Accepted remote input and banner indicated correct channel but actually never changed channe. Tried red button reset; unplugged and replugged after a fashion, but continued to happen.

Tried to get through all recorded shows before calling D knowing they would recommend reformat but could no longer stand resetting every day or more.

Called D; did reformat, now we'll see. Other r15-300 still working fine except for every so often the black screen of death in recordings, sometimes correctable sometimes not.

Oh well, we are keeping fingers crossed that reformat solves problem, both r15's have been installed for about 7 months; still prefer our UTV units with dual buffering especially during NFL season and no lost recordings.

I got a RC23RF remote, set up the RF and after a week of use no more remote problems.
