The RC34 is an IR remote. The RC32RF is an RF(Radio Frequency-works through walls, etc.) remote and has backlighting. Get the RC32 if you can or order it for $25 through DTV.sraider said:

Thanks
I don't know about the RC32RF, but the RC34 I have is indeed an RF remote. It has the FCC sticker on the back and I have it set to RF. No backlighting though.Everyperson said:The RC34 is an IR remote. The RC32RF is an RF(Radio Frequency-works through walls, etc.) remote and has backlighting. I have the RC34. It has no backlighting and is certainly RF capable.ajwillys said:I don't know about the RC32RF, but the RC34 I have is indeed an RF remote. It has the FCC sticker on the back and I have it set to RF. No backlighting though.
Only until you memorize the locations of the buttons.iacas said:I'm considering buying the backlit version (RC32RF)... is it worth it?
Even then... there are just some days your are brain fried... or want to use a button you don't normally do.ajwillys said:Only until you memorize the locations of the buttons.
But you still have to hit some button to make the backlight come on, right? It doesn't sense that you've picked it up and turn the light on, right? Does it come on during the day when there's plenty of light or does it have a sensor to only come on at the appropriate times (i.e. when it's dark).Earl Bonovich said:Even then... there are just some days your are brain fried... or want to use a button you don't normally do.
The backlit is really nice.
