About a month ago, I recorded a show, but the end was cut off thanks to the station's goofing start/end times. I want to re-record it with more time on the end so I can see how it actually ends, but it's not happening. I've tried to catch it at least 2 other times, but it keeps showing up as cancelled in the history. I'm assuming it's because of some 'rule' in the code that doesn't allow the same show (it's not a series - just a single event type show) to be re-recorded with x number of days. So what I want to know is... Is that right? And how many days is x?

Similar logic to the Tivo. Tivo has the "28 day rule". Not sure how long on the HR20.

But if you want to record it again you can just go to the guide and hit the record button once. It will add it to your To Do list and you can then edit the recording to add extra time. If you then edit your series link to include the padding all future new shows will have the padding.

I've done that and it even shows up in the To Do List, but apparently later deletes it from the list and it never records. I guess it's still too close to the original record date, but I just wish I knew how long I have to wait. I could try making a series link for it, but since it's a single show only shown every once in a while, I'm not sure how effective that will be.

Do you still have the show on your hard drive? (the original recording)

If so, delete it. There is logic in the HR20 that will not re-record that is already on the hard drive

No, that's the weird thing. I deleted it after watching it and getting to that cut-off ending point.
