Hi Guys,

My HR20 is set to record NFL Total Access every day so that I will always have the newest episode recorded. I set it up to record First Run Only, and only keep 1 episode until I Delete. BUt, what the HR20 does, is record the new show at 4pm, then it re-records it at 7pm, 8pm, etc. all darn day long. It just re-records the same episode again and again, so that it is almose ALWAYS recording this on one of the tuners.

Is there a way around this? Or is this an issue with the guide data not specifying that it is a Repeat Episode? Thanks for all the help thus far...

I think you hit it on the head...it's the guide data. I've had similar problems. This may or may not be D*'s fault...if NFL Network doesn't provide the information to them correctly, then we're stuck. From what I've seen of NFL Network, they aren't exactly on top of things. <:D >

It occurs to me that we might see an improvement sometime this year. Networks (at least the big 4+) have not based their advertising rates on DVR, and I would bet that the cable networks are in the same situation. IIRC, this coming May the new contracts will allow for DVR usage to be a part of the rate analysis for networks, so they will be more interested in our being better able to record the shows we want.

Right now, we are faced with setting up manual recordings which might miss an episode or get all episodes meaning we'll miss episodes as they are purged faster than we can watch them. So if we take that to the networks on a show by show basis, maybe they'll now start to listen and put accurate episode info into the guide stream.

Thinking out loud again,
Tom
