You may remember me as the guy who had an eBay reseller that refunded me after two backorders on an HR20. I just jumped on DTV's queue instead since they'd match the price close enough.
Thursday the 20th was our install date, 1-5 pm. He showed at 2 pm, and the first unit was DOA. He had one other, which he installed and claimed "was the last unit we expect to see in the region until mid-December -- you're very lucky."
So, it's been up and running since then. Kind of flaky -- two lockups, two shows it should have recorded but did not... but we finally have one. I figure I need time to learn its quirks, and DTV to iron(wood) out the kinks via a couple updates...
But the key here is that distribution is once again empty, with no more units expected from DTV manufacturing until mid-December. <sigh>
