Where would I find a comparison between the various brands of DirectTV receivers that are available? I'm mostly interested in the standard ones that are offered for new subscriber packages.

The best I can tell you is to go to www.orbitsat.com and go into the Directv area. They have a huge assortment of Directv receivers and have spec sheets that you can download for each receiver.

Another good one is www.americansatellite.com they have some good info and price best I've found yet. I've bought from them and they ship pretty quick also. Just my $ 0.02 stay away from the RCA products they have alot of bugs in them.
