So I come home to watch a show it records daily to find out for some reason it did not record it today.

There was nothing else on the same time, there was over 50% free.

Any idea why all of a sudden it would not tape something it was set to tape?

So frustrating.

No, it wasn't a rerun. General Hospital
My wife watches that from time to time. I think they have reruns on the weekend on Soapnet or something like that. Hope that helps.

Were there any other programs set to record before, during, and after the time slot of the program that didn't record?

If there is an overlap of even one minute that causes the system to try to record three things. The problem is that the one with the lower priority will not record.

What does the History say is the reason it didn't record?

Mike

Edit: I just checked and we didn't get GH today either. I'll have to do a little detective work to see why.

Ok, my History was little help. There doesn't seem to be a good reason why it didn't record. I'm thinking Guide Data glitch but there's no way to prove that.

My history states that is was canceled because it did not match your show type settings or the program has already been recorded.

I believe I read somewhere that GH was going to do repeats occasionally. Not sure if today's was one of them.

Soapnet doesn't show today's episode.

Here's a synopsis if anyone wants to know.

Yup, when that happens and there is no apparent reason, it is most likely because you have it set up to record first runs only, not repeats. For whatever reason, GH was probably a repeat today, and the guide reflected that, so it didn't record.

Mine didn't record either. But it was on Soapnet that night. I recorded it at 6:00 Pacific time. And it will be on this weekend again as well.

For anyone who's wife might be interested in trying to save General Hospital, one of the websites I go to regarding General Hospital is compiling data on who's cable/satellite provider service did not record GH on Friday.

Here is a link to her website in case anyone wants to verify what I have said:
http://www.generalhospitalhappenings.com/gh-spoilers.php

She is asking people to email her provider name along with city and zip code.

Here is her email: [email protected]

X2 or some issue with guide data because the receiver uses the info in the guide to know how to save the recording, no guide or wrong guide info and no save. The previous recommendations are all great too! I would check (if you have on-demand) to see if the network has the episode available for VOD (video on demand).

I've had a few programs get cancelled because of a "programming update" usaually when i have something set to record around 2-3 in the afternoon.. Not sure why it happens at that time. Seems like programming interruptions would be better at 4am on the average..

I go into History to check every few days, because i forgot what i scheduled if it was a one time show to make sure and then re-schedule it if necessary.. The problem seems to be all on directvs end and it has nothing to do with my settings or prioritizer..
