Ok, I did a search in this forum and the most recent post was dated around July. I have an install scheduled for today. CSR stated when I placed the order that the Vip622 would be "delivered" before the install. Nothing on the doorstep as of last night from the man in brown.

So I'm wondering if they're actually sending me the receiver via UPS, or is the installer going to show up with it?

Havent really been paying attention recently but back when the units first came out they almost always came UPS to the house first. If they didnt, when the installer came out it was most often like.. ok so wheres your new box?

Maybe (hopefully for you) thats changed and the installers are toting some now.

How much time was there between your initial order and the install date?

When mine was done back in April the installer brought the receiver with him.

Ordered on Tuesday with a Friday install...

I want to be optimistic, but I have a nagging feeling it's going to be a reschedule due to lack of equipment.
Yeah thats pushing it. Prolly best case scenario would be getting the unit today regardless of when the install was slated for.. if they sent it out 2nd Day on Weds.

Eh, with any luck the dude will have one with him to install.

Update, came home for the install and UPS had delivered some other items, but nothing from Dish. All hopes for today are now on the installer having the hardware.

Ok, it's done. Installers had the receiver on hand. Not very impressed with the personnel, but it's installed and working. (Let's just say there was a major language barrier.) All I can say is it's a good thing I have some knowledge on things A/V.

1st impression is that the SD PQ is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the service we were getting from Charter.

Great resource this place is....thanks everyone. Now to get the output settings correct so I don't have side bars on my plasma when watching SD content.

Going back to your first post, at least they showed up with the receiver and you are now up and operating.

I am sure you will find it in the manual but the button on the lower left (I think it is *) toggles through various standard, partial Zoom, Zoom and Stretch modes. Sometimes that is handly for sizing a picture to a screen although with some of the settings you will lose part of the picture.

Hey guys, just wanted to post a follow up:

We are enjoying the new level of service alot - however, we have no ABC!?!? Anyway, that's another story for another thread....

I've got things set for SD viewing and when I want to watch HD, I have to go through both the receiver and panel settings, but hey, it's a small price to pay to get HD where I wasn't able to before.
