I had my DirecTV installed last week. In the time that I have been watching the TV so far (less than a week), I've had some issues with pixelation, blank screen (signal loss?), and programs skipping like 3-5 seconds. Not really any storms in the area at the time.

I've called and a tech is coming out tomorrow morning to take a look at it. My signal levels on the 99c and 103c sats are 72% and 81%. I would assume they should be higher. Does that sound like the cause of my problem?

I highly doubt the TV will actually do any of the things I described while the tech is actually here, since that is the way it usually works. Is there anything that I can do to help ensure the tech makes some adjustments? When I had it installed, the installer said those levels were fine, but I've seen multiple posts on here where people say they should be at 90%.

Thanks!!

While holding up a twenty dollar bill, tell him you'll buy lunch if he gets the 99c and 103c signals into the 90s.

Are you being sarcastic, or should I really not expect the tech to do anything? They original installer didn't do anything other than mount it on the pole and set it to what I assume he thought was best.

He didn't set it, check the signals, and then reset or anything like that.

Sarcastic? No. You asked what you could do. The installer's goal is 70 or better. You want to change that goal to say 85 or better. A tip is one way to enhance your chances of attaining your goal. Just saying.
