sometimes When I try to record baseball games on extra innings my dvr just randomly cancels the recordings. This does not always happen but not sure what to do to prevent this

Schedule the recordings on the 600-699 channels instead of the 700's will help.

I have seen the DVR randomly cancel recordings. Its not sports related.

Happened to me for game 5 of the Celtics Heat series on ESPN last week.
Got home at half time and the program was not in the List.
Checked the history and it said the program (which I had set up to record about 2pm that day) was not recorded because the program guide had not been updated (or something to that effect).
Luckily the DVR was tuned to ESPN, so I rewound and saw the game from the beginning using the live buffer.

If it was in the guide at 2pm, how could it have been canceled because a guide update did not occur? That doesn't make sense to me.

Exactly the same thing happened to me/my recording of game 5, never did fiqure it out. Caught the second half when I got home and watched it LIVE (luckily). The game recorded at 3AM on its own later that night so watched 1 & 2 periods next morning. WEIRD

Happened to me just last night, I had Dallas set to record on TNT at 9 PM, abot 9:30 I noticed the record light was not on, upon looking in the history, it said that it was cancelled due to the channel no longer being available. Weird.

I have been getting these errors on a bunch of recordings this week, on every DVR in my house (all 24/500). This spans multiple channels, obviously. I was just coming by to see if anyone had a clue what the cause is, but apparently it is making the rounds.

As I posted in other places. I'm getting canceled recordings on my HR34 as well with this message always given. The latest for an episode of Adam 12;

"This episode was canceled because it did not match your show type settings or the program has already been recorded."

Anyone get a message similar to that in the recording "History" when none of those reasons are correct?

I believe episode type 2 is repeat...if your SL is not set for both or repeats, it would not have recorded that episode. If I'm thinking of the old Adam-12, since its a very old show, to be safe your SL should probably be for repeats or both because technically every airing is a repeat and not new.
