Recording problem

Sunday I set HR20 to record the Cowboys (yuck) on Fox from noon to 3 with a 30 minute extension. I checked the unit 10 minutes after noon to see if it was recording. No -- the yellow light was not on. So I turned on the unit with my remote and everything lit up - including the yellow light. The problem was I could not tell if it was recording - not on the VOD, not on the TO DO List and I could not access it to rewind, etc. So I ended up doing a reset; then it showed on VOD but I still had problems, so I deleted all references to the game and set FOX on the Guide and hit "R". It started recording okay. To cover overtime I also set the after game show to record because I did not trust the 30 min extension function. That all seemed to work.

Is there something strange about setting time extensions on sports events? Seems like I had this happren before, but I did not document it.
