So I had to programs set to record tonight at 8:00. This morning I saw them on my to do list, and figured they would both record since I have a dual tuner HR21. I came home tonight to find that only one of them recorded, there was no sign of the other show. I then went under history in the mange recordings section and it shows that the second show was cancelled. What could have happened here? I came home after both shows were over, and so there's zero chance I cancelled the other show. Could there be a problem with my DVR?

BTW, I have always had no problems using both tuners in the scenerio where a show is recording but I am watching something else at the time. This ist he first time I've had two shows set to record at the same time.

Could have been a schedule change or something else higher on the prioritizer.

If you check your signal strengths and have good signals on both tuners, you should be good to go for recording two things at once.

Did you have a program scheduled at 7:00 that actually lasted until 8:01 and had a higher priority?

They were the only recordings I had set at all for the day, and they both started at 8:00. I have good signal on both tuners. As far as prioritizer goes, I don't understand how it would have an effect here, since there was no conflict. It was two shows recording at once, not 3. There were shows higher up in the priority list, but they were not on at the time, thus not scheduled to record.

I figured it out. The show at 8:00 as preempted because of a local baseball game on that network. What happened is the guide data changed, causing it to automatically be canceled since it was no longer showing on the guide at that time.
