Recurring OTA timers on 622?

708 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  tpag2000
I'm having trouble setting up recurring timers for new episodes for my OTA channels. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this problem being discussed elsewhere? (I couldn't find it) I've had my 622 for over a year and I know that recurring OTA timers used to work, what am I missing?

I've tried several methods for setting up the timer including searching for the show (themes/search menu) and selecting it in the guide. If I set up the recurring timer for the OTA channel it gets the current week sometimes, but never extends to any future weeks. When I view the timer, it only shows the first show instance, and after that airs, the list is continually empty even though there are new episodes of the show. Its NOT listing them crossed out, its like it doesn't even see the later episodes as the same show. This has happened for both at least Fox and NBC. I haven't tried the others yet.

I followed the exact same steps and was able to setup the timer for the same show using the SAT tuners just not OTA.

Any ideas, thoughts, or voodoo magic that can help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

I don't know if this is going to make you feel any better, but folks are reporting this type of problem on the thread 612 Timer/Recording Issues and beginning with Post #43 a fellow Dallas area customer is reporting the problem on his 622.
I was going to post the same thing phrelin. This could be related and might be a regional issues. This is one i am going to try and reproduce myself thought I know i have a number of timers of the types described and I have yet to see the issue.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is regional. I assume that the OTA digital signals are identified in some way that Dish is trying to use to keep apart from the mapped-down sat signal. Only in some areas, the OTA signal isn't cooperating.

The problem i have with the theory that this is regional is that I have two 622's and two 612's. One of each is working fine while one of each is having trouble. Seems like it makes the idea of this being regional, at best, only a piece of the answer.
But, as I have posted previously, I live in Dallas and I do not have the problem with either of my receivers. So, it could be regional but it is not hitting everyone in the region.
Thanks for the link to the other thread. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'll go over there and join in the conversation.

Thanks,

Tim
