This is a pic of my HR22 remote control. I added a couple of pieces to raise the two buttons that I most commonly use. This has been a HUGE help and now my fingers simply fall right into place.

This is a cheap remote anyway, and can easily be replaced. I would not do this to my expensive home theater remote. But the DVR remote is the one that is in my hand all the time. And I am working those two buttons all the time. Plus, this remote is not backlit.

Of course, you could superglue almost anything to whatever buttons you deemed most appropriate. But the extra feel REALLY helps me out. :)

Excellent idea. Why the large black "play button" does not also serve as the "pause button" is beyond me, especially since the small white "pause button" does both. It seems like any basic customer beta testing would have pointed out this huge flaw!!!!!!!

While I can honestly say the HR-21 has, for the most part, made me forget my high def Tivo, I truly dislike the remote. The Tivo remote was infinitely more user friendly (both location of keys and ease of use).

Nice picture! In 20 months, I have never pressed the button at the 7:30 position...

Wow, that "7:30" button is the perfect "answer the phone, see who is at the door, pause live TV, do everything button". I use it all the time! ;)

Yes, the 7:30 button gets used a lot by me too. I am constantly pausing.

As stated above, the big black center button should be the pause button, as that is one of the most heavily used features of a buffer-capable DVR.
