I have an RCA TV (Dish Network HD34-310) hooked up to an HR21-300 using CPNT1 on the back. When I power the system on using the "on" button on the remote, the TV and DVR turn on as expected, but the TV always come on in antenna mode. If I turn them on separately using the "PWR" button and the slide switch, it will turn on in the mode it was in when it was turned off (CPNT1). Does anybody know of a way to set the "on" button to not change the TV input? I remember seeing a sequence in the manual to disable the TV input button on the remote, but I don't know if it will fix the problem. Any ideas?

sorry but nothing can be done, its feature of many RCA products, when they see the discrete ON commands, it triggers the RCA products to go to certain input. You can program the RCA DSS 00392 code to AV1 or AV2 device, then press the middle power key in that device to will send the RCA TV to different input. And RCA VCR code 00060 to another input.

Wow, that is one of the stupidest ideas I've heard, but it sounds like something RCA would do. This TV doesn't even have an ATSC tuner. I appreciate your insight, I just wish there was a way to change it. Thanks again.

BlackRabbit, I suspect that a learning remote might be the way to go for you. There are a number of excellent options under $100.
