I have VIP722 coaxed to 2 tv's. Remote 2 controls tv2-no problem. I also have a tv3 which will receive the channel showing on tv2 when tuned to (air, ch 60). Tv 2 is on 2nd floor and tv3 is in basement. I would like to watch tv3 and change channels using the tv2 remote-but nothing happens.
Can I change the address on remote 2 to make it operate tv3?

Sounds like you need to extend or move your UHF antenna. One way is with a short piece of cable added to your UHF antenna so that you can then move the antenna around till it works. Another way is to connect it with a cable splitter to your ch 2 out, so the whole wire is you antenna.

If you can't change channels on the 722, check the suggestions at UHF Remote Range Extenders on the EKB.

If you mean the TV2 remote won't control TV3, yes you can change the code to control a different brand of TV. You can read the instructions and find the code number in the fine manual. Before you make the change, you'll also want to find the code that is used for your TV2 (the manual will tell you how to make the remote blink out the code to you). That means changing the code each time you move the remote. Might be easier just to use 2 remotes for one of the TVs.

Don't know what "//" means, but you seem to be indicating I missed something in the original post. The sentence you highlight could be read as changing channels on the 722 or on TV3. The last sentence would indicate the latter so I addressed that in addition to supporting your response.

Canman, can you clear this up, and did we help?

Thanks Guys-let me try this again:
How do I receive the picture and audio on tv3 when it is not connected to the 722?
722 is physically connected to tv1 and tv2. As long as tv2 is on I can get the same channel on tv3.
It would be nice to operate the 722 from tv3. I tried changing the address but it still doesn't work.

With the dual room receivers you have what is called TV1 and TV2. TV1 is the TV connected to the HDMI/Component/S-Video outputs (and there is also composit). TV2 is usally connected to the Home Distribution output (and there is also composit). You can have as many TVs as you want connected to the Home Distribution output (RG6 coax).

There is not a connection known as TV3 so I think you may be confusing us with your question. Is the TV you call TV3 connected to the Home Distribution output? If so you will see the same programming on it you see on the other TV2.

Is you problem that the UHF remote does not send a good signal to the receiver from the basement TV? If that is it, there are several things you could try. You can move the UHF antenna from the back of the receiver to another location by connecting a coax run to the receiver port for the antenna and connecting the antenna to the other end of the coax. Perhaps you can find a location that will work for both TV locations. There is a version of this fix where you can diplex the antenna signal into an existing cable to move the antenna location.

Another thing you can try is switching the remote to range B. In the battery compartment there is a switch to switch it from A to B. B will give you more range with the remote (so you can also change the guy next door's channel!).
