I want to replace my existing receiver and use my existing access card. There used to be a code you could enter to have directv marry the card to the new receiver. Is that true? Also, my multiswitch is type SWM17. Is there anything I need to do to get it to work with an hr23 and hr24 at the same time?

If you ever could do the remarry, you cant anymore. And your multiswitch is either a SWM8 or SWM16 depending on how many tuners you had last time you had an install done.

It may be possible technically, but against DirecTV policy and not something a regular CSR can do even if they wanted. I don't think you would be able to get the access card department to do it, if they have the access. You will need to pay the $20 and return the old card.

Depends on how he's getting the HR24. He might not be getting a new one.
