Hi,

Our hr20-100 died and got sent an hr21-700.

The old one was hooked to do mrv via a deca installation. Mi have a printout from here on how to hook up. But now that the question is how do I replace it with the hr21-700?

So from the swm switch it goes to a splitter. One leg goes to the band stop filter and then to sat1. The other end the splitter goes to the deca adapter which then goes to the ethernet port and to sat2.

So I just remove the splitter, deca and band stop filter and go directly from the swm to sat1?

My hr-24 does not have a deca adapter

Also, they did not include the off air adapter. Aren't they supposed to included it?

hr24s dont need them...on your hr21 just bring the line to sat in 1 and then to the ethernet port.....that setup you have is specific to hr20-100's only

They don't provide AM21s. If you needed OTA, there was a checkbox they could use to make sure you got a 20 as a replacement.

Call D* and tell them you need OTA capabilities. Explain you were using OTA terminals on the HR20 for sub-channels which are not on the satellite. D* will either send an AM21 or an HR20 and a return for the HR21. In my case, I called and talked to Tech Support which sent two AM21s for each replaced HR20. You may have to talk to Tech Support or Retention to get the job done. Best wishes!

Thanks all.

I asked about the adapter but in my case it's not crucial as I'm only able to get just one or two extra channels. So didn't push the issue.
