A friend of mine with an R22 has a flaky internal HDD. It fails the test and doesn't even respond to the special hard drive utilities (SMART short/long; surface scan).

I've worn out my mouse searching this system for a current, compatible internal 320 or 500 Gb model drive that works well with this DVR. Every post seems to be about upgrading the CAPACITY with an external eSATA box or larger internal. He just wants a workable replacement.

Suggestions???

Look for drives with the same model number just a smaller size. So if people are getting a 2tb EAVS then get a 320 EAVS. However not adding size at this point would be a waste of money given the cost of HD's. I was looking at drives and the AAJS by WD seemed to be one that was popular with DVR's however I haven't done that much research so I'm sure the threads about the HD's will have good models as well.
