There have been times where the show I'm watching isn't that great and I zone out and forget to zoom past the commericals. Even walked away and returned to the prompt of "Do you wish to delete this program"

I have forgotten to skip commercials at times myself. Some may just use the PVR event function and not use the skip ahead/skip back/fast forward/rewind buttons as much maybe bc they are not used to using it and so used to watching commercials that they just dont use it. Also there are bound to be people that will not use them out of all the people that have the pvr units.

Everytime to watch a recorded event I blast thoough the commercials at full 300x speed. It takes a second or two to skip over 7 minutes worth of commercials. Awe, Those poor advertisers, NOT!

There are times were I simply forget im watching a recorded program and just let the comercial's play. Then halfway through the show I remember and feel like an idiot.

Not only do a cruise through the commercials but I hate it when I'm stuck watching something live, and I can't skip..

I still maintain that you guys are all paying more attention to the commercials as you blast thru them than you do when they just play and you don't pay attention.

They are ransacking the fridge or taking care of "business". I would like to see what the numbers are for people who watch "live". I suspect the numbers of folks who get up and leave the area are similar.

We are not paying less attention to what we ignored before. Now we can ignore it quicker when we don't actually have to go pee.

If anything Commericals on shows i watch live cause me to flip thru the channels, find something else and not return (thus causing loss to the original channel's commerical appeal anyway). If I watch the entire show but skip the commericals due to PVR they have lost nothing, but at least any product placement in the show I am stuck with

The Truman Show was fully funded by product placement....

May be a good idea for the future.

Fri's episode of Monk on USA had a very good product placement. A huge stack of "Lever 2000" towelettes. Very quick, but clear shot and a very good use of product placement in an apprapo setting.
