"Reset Your Receiver" online

I was just poking around my account at the D* site and noticed something I hadn't seen before. On the left side there is a tab Latest News - New. I thought it would just be a note telling how to do a RBR or pull the power but apparently it is a way to select which of your receivers you want D* to resend the authorization codes to. Check the receiver and click "Reset". I wonder if this does anything different than the RBR. It says it takes 3 to 5 minutes to reset do I assume it does a reboot and not just sends the authorization codes. Anyone tried this yet?

It just re-sends DirecTV's authorization codes in case your receiver has lost local channels or other channels that you subscribe to. You can do the same thing on DirecTV's phone system.
And just to add a little for those that may not know. Normally it only takes about a minute with the phone system. Just call the 1-800-531-5000 and when it asks you a question like "How may I help you?" all you have to do is speak "seven two two". It will then re-send the authorization to your receivers.
