resolution format question

I just had an HR 20 installed yesterday. Took me four installation dates, but they finally came through. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet, but have been pleasantly surprised at how intuitive most of the interface is. Having been with Tivo for years, I wasn't expecting this easy a transition.

But (and now for my question), I had the impression from some of the many posts I've read about this unit that you could program it to only output certain resolutions with specifically designated screen formats for those resolutions. Perhaps I misread (or misremembered), but I haven't found anything like that yet. With native resolution on, I get the option to pick one screen format (apparently) for every resolution. With native off, I seem to just have the option to cycle through every resolution with every available screen format. Being able to settle on which formats look best for which resolution (especially for SD) would be a plus. Is there a way to do that?

It's in the settings for video. You can turn on or off native as well as default screen size and such as well as choose what resolutions you want the HR20 to output.
I must be missing something. I clearly see the option to turn native on or off. And I see the option to set a screen format (pilar, stretch, crop). But I don't see an option to tell my HR 20 what resolutions I want it to output. The only thing I've seen that will do that is the format button on the remote that cycles through twelve options (4 resolutions x 3 screen formats each). What I'd like to be able to do is to program the HR 20 to output only a smaller subset of those twelve options so there would be less to cycle through with the format button. Right now I've kept native on because I find it's actually easier/faster to let it find the resolution than cycle through 12 different options to see what looks best (of course, this is mainly an issue when watching SD where I've found, with my HR 10 at least, that different SD broadcasts look best in different resolutions on my tv).

Look under Help & Settings/Setup/TV Type. Then use the Green button to tab right from TV Ratio to TV Resolutions. I missed this too the first couple of times.
I've been to the tv type screen a dozen times and never noticed the tab over to tv resolutions.

Thanks!
