I'd suggest going to a flea market or garage sales to find a old dish 500 system. I have many I have found for less than $10.
Why don't you try posting in the FTA forum if your questions are really about FTA. Also for Ku satellites I think you need a 30-32" dish.mcmattyo said:Who said anything about keeping dish pointed at dish satellites are there any free international stations on them? I was thinking realigning dish to Galaxy 25, its seems to have the most channels. As far a buying the dish I have checked Ebay and the prices are at least $50 not to mention I would have to buy and run wiring. If anyone could give a me a real answer then please do, and if you want to talk about satellite piracy start a new thread. thanks
this is just so wrong on so many levels.mcmattyo said:I was thinking of ordering Dish and pay the $50 activation charge just to get a dish installed then cancel it the next day. The reason is to get a dish installed and house wired so I can use my FTA system, since I already have DTV and have too much HD equipment to give it up. I was looking at the customer agreement with dish and it said something about returning the LNB and switch or getting a $100 fine. Is this true that I would have to return the LNB and switch? I would think it would only be the receivers. Also if I canceled it the next day would my bill be prorated for a day or do I have to pay 1 month min. Any advise would be appreciated.

DBS dishes only receive DBS signals. The satellite you want to receive requires both a larger dish and a different LNB. DBS equipment is totally incompatible.mcmattyo said:Who said anything about keeping dish pointed at dish satellites are there any free international stations on them? Great analogy!Just when I thought I'd lost my capacity to be amazed... along comes mcmattyo.
Maybe I can follow his example and go buy a car today. Then tomorrow I can return it without the tires and not incur any penalties. Why not? It doesn't harm anyone *I* know.
