I did a search but could not find anything on it, I had an external esata enclosure and put in a 500gb maxtor drive to test, and it worked fine. I bought a larger drive and now put a 1tb drive in it and it works fine.

I want to put the 500gb drive back in a PC I have and reuse it, the PC sees it but won't let me access it or delete partitions or anything.

What can I do to re-use the drive in my PC.

You might try using a GParted live CD. It will likely recognize more partitions than Windows and let you remove them. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

You could also try a disk wipe utility such as Darik's Boot and Nuke. Use it to "zero" the drive and then allow Windows to create a new partition. http://www.dban.org/

With either utility, be careful that you are really working on the drive you think you are. If in doubt, disconnect all hard drives but the one you are trying to work with before booting your computer with either of the above utilities.

Unless there is something on it you want, like Carl says just reformat the drive.
