What is the cutoff on RG6 versus RG on extended runs.
Is there some sort of general guideline - after X feet, go with RG11.

Been awhile since I've worked with RG11. Just did they other day. It's that much bigger

I'm not sure it's that simple.

What's your loss budget and at what frequency?

200' of RG6 @ 2 GHz = 19 dB

200' of RG11 @ 2 GHz = 13 dB

Exactly "loss budget" is the deciding factor. At CATV frequencies the differences can be less dramatic at a distance of 200' particularly for the lower channels vs higher channels.

ch2 difference @ 200' is 1dB
ch78 difference @ 200' is 3.5dB
