Bummer, I have chatted with three different dish CSR's relative to RSN's and Turbo HD. Two out of three said that I could purchase the multi sport pack along with Silver Turbo HD or higher. One out of three said that I would be able to watch the BTN while the other two said no since Idaho is out of the BT region. Is this correct?

Any RSN out of your area will be lit up by buying the multi sports pack but, any professional sports that are airing will most likely be blacked out. Many of the college games however, will air without blackouts.

Good points. I am interested mostly in college hockey on FSN North and football + basketball on BTN. The CSR's were implying that BTN did not equal a RSN and therefore I could not get it. However, I seem to recall past statements on this forum that BTN = RSN and would be available with multisports pack. The two that said no asked for my zip code (Idaho is clearly outside the BT :) ) . The other said BTN is included in the multisports pack across the country.

I think part of the confusion is that it is not 100% clear whether you can add Multisport to the new TurboHD packages at all.
You make a great point. In my case, not being able to add BTN and FSN north via the multisport pack is a bit of a deal breaker. D* becomes very competitive if I need to sub with an AT package.

I do not have multi-sports but it seems to me that if you do subscribe to multi-sports you should be able to get BTN. Charlie let everybody have it for so long last year for free, there should be some avenue for everybody in the country to view it if they wish.

With the now "old" DishHD Absolute you get no RSN at all and you definately can't add multisport. Now that we are all grandfathers, and nobody else can come aboard, that's pretty much the way it is until we switch out or are forced out so no real discussion there anymore.

New customers can get the new TurboHD HD-only packages, and at the Silver and Gold levels you get your RSN (I believe Bronze does not but someone can correct me if I'm wrong there). So you'll get your market RSN, and in Big Ten Country should get BTN as well.

What I have not seen, however, is anything that implies multisport can be added to TurboHD HD-only like it can to ATXXX+metal packages. That is what seems to be up in the air. Frankly, it seems like they should since you now get your RSN in the package but it just isn't clear which leaves me to believe they either didn't think about it OR you really can't do it.

Last "known" rules for BTN:

The Multi Sports Pack (MSP) DOES include the BTN as long as you are:

1 - Outside of the 8-state Big Ten region AND
2 - Subscribe to AT100+ (or higher) AND
3 - Subscribe to the MSP ($5.99 per month)

You may NOT be able to add the MSP UNLESS you subscribe to AT100+ (or higher) in ADDITION to your desired HD-only package. See below.

"DISH Network Multi-Sport Package

The DISH Network Multi-Sport Pack brings together the best regional collegiate and high school games from across the country. Get more football, basketball, and other top sports from the teams you love!"

* Requires additional subscription to qualifying programming,
including America's Top 100 Plus or higher, DishLATINO Dos or higher,
America's Top 100 Plus with DishHD programming or higher. Blackout restrictions may apply."

I just came back to town and started reading a bunch of threads here about this "Turbo" thing. I understand it pretty well (I think) but I can't figure out how the new packaging will impact on me any differently than what I have now.

For the last couple years I have had the American "Everything" pak and the dishHD Ultimate package. I assumed that this pretty much had me covered for everything coming down the pike except certain sport deals, porn stations and locals (which Dish does not provide in HD in my area so I use OTA and disregard the Dish locals anyway).

Am I correct in assuming that I will continue to receive all the new channels coming out and that "Turbo" will really impact on me only if and when I get a 1080p capable device (I have a 720p projector now) and/or use the PPV order feature? Other than this, is the "Turbo" simply a name change for what use to be HD Ultimate?

You won't see anything from Turbo - it's simply a marketing ploy for three HD-only packages for new customers.
