I always wonder what causes the missed recordings, as many of us do, and I see a lot of people posting that to make sure it records they also schedule it on their older tivo style dvr's.
well that got me to wondering how many that have the missed/blank recordings also have older tivo or or sd receivers mixed in with the hr dvr's.
is there any way that there could be some signal interference or priority issue caused by having the mixes of receivers?

I never had my r10 hooked up at the same time my hr20 / 21's were hooked up.
I've also never had a missed recording (not caused by me or the wife mis-scheduling something) on any of my hr2xx units and I always wondered why. the only difference I could see is that I never ran a mixed bunch at the same time.

does the question make sense?

I have a Hughes Series2 Tivo, an HR10-250 and the HR21-100. I don't think there is any cross-interference.

I have had a couple bad days with the HR21 with blank recordings. I'm working on a hypothesis, but I'm sure it is not interference from the Tivos.

All these machines are always recording. Just because it isn't called a "recording" doesn't mean they aren't doing just that.

well, it was a thought :)
I guess we would also need to know how many have the blank issues that do NOT have tivo or sd rec running.

have thee been many reports of this issue from people only running 1 hr2xxx dvr and nothing else? I forget now, will need to dig through some older posts I guess.
