Just curious if you connect an AM21 to an HR34 can RVU client can access the OTA channels?

Yep, the HR34 and HR2x DVDs are different!
Only the HR34 works with an RVU client, and it provides the tuners for the client, either satellite or OTA (assuming an AM21 is connected).

Good to know. You learn something new every day. So will an H2x receiver also access the OTA tuners on an HR34/AM21 combination?

jdspencer, remember that another H/HR is NOT an RVU client....they are just MRV clients, thats why it works differently. Only the RVU client can do that, when that D* RVU client comes out we can probably expect it to work that way as well.

And remember, even thought he HR34 has 5 tuners, the AM21 acts as one (or two) of those 5 tuners. So if you are using both AM21 tuners then you can only have 3 satellite stations tuned in/recording.

Also since the AM21 only has 2 tuners in it, you can only watch/record 2 OTA stations at a time either one locally and one streamed over RVU, or two over RVU.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the HR34 can support 2 AM21s to get 4 OTA tuners.
