This might be a dumb question, but I can't find the answer. I have an rvu ready tv and was wondering if by upgraded to an hr34 will I be able to watch live tv on it. Or will it simply be recorded or downloaded material I can watch? Does it eliminate the need for a box at that tv? Thanks in advance.

The answer is that it does eliminate the need for a DirecTV Receiver at the RVU-enabled HDTV. Your RVU HDTV will act like it has its own DVR, using one of the HR34's 5 tuners and having full access to its recordings.
