Come on Directv, give me a break..tonight's preseason game on the NHL network is blacked out? Why? It's not on MSG.
Time Warner is showing it on the NHL network. Directv and their "Blackouts" don't make any sense.

What a joke.

NHL Network HD is not blacked out here on Time Warner (out of Rochester at least), just tuned in right now. I don't think I'll be watching the third period, but it would be nice if the game was actually in HD. I see they have Lalime in net tonight. I met him the other day at Puck Drop '08, pretty cool guy, hopefully the Sabres play him a lot in the preseason to get him some good experience,

As always, DirecTV just follows the blackouts they are told to do. If it's on any local RSN (which sounds like it was) then the NHL will black it out on NHL Network for certain zip codes. A common complaint last year was the NHL Network required blackouts larger then the RSN market actually covers. Complain to the NHL.

Jimmy - the blackouts are Comcast's gift to us in Philly. Has zip to do with the NHL.
even though I love to bash Comcrap as much as the next person these really are NHL driven its a wider Blackout "circle" than for the teams RSN for some reason... actually very un-NHL like I wonder if some of the owners gave them grief over it and they caved a little
