Here's a new one. The Kings/Timberwolves game tonight (and Kings/Pacers game tomorrow night) is only on CSNCA Alternate channel 699, as opposed to the main 698 channel. There is no opposing game coverage on 698, and on Comcast in Sacramento the games are being carried on the main channel (per http://tvlistings.aol.com/listings/ca/citrus-heights/comcast/CA54023|X), not the overflow. Why is it only on the Alternate on DirecTV? This was never the case last season.

No, there are 2 different CSN channels in NorCal. CSN Bay Area is DirecTV channel 696 and is the flagship network for The Warriors and the Giants. CSN California is DirecTV channel 698 and is the flagship for the Kings and the Oakland A's...and I think the Sharks if they were playing? 697 is Alternate for CSNBA and 699 is the Alt for CSNCA.

CSN California was originally started BECAUSE of the Kings, they later acquired the other rights. That's what makes this even more odd.

except that is when the feed was based out of Sacramento. Now it is based out of the Bay Area. The feed shows Oakland Athletics for example. They are giving the bay area programing because the Kings would be blacked out in San Francisco. Just like when FSN had the Blazers, those games were on an Alternate on Directv because the main feed was Seattle based.

Now I get it. Thanks for the clarification.
