Satelliteracer: Why the League Pass blackout?

The Mavs-Wizards game on CSN and 751 was blacked out in Dallas last night. My understanding is that we should be able to see the game as long as there is no local broadcast. Supposedly Dallas Dish subscribers saw the game. There's another Mavericks game tomorrow that's broadcast by the other team and not broadcast locally. Are we going to get that one?

thats dissapointing if thats the case....i went to the game last night so didnt watch on directv. however tomorrow nights games against the bulls is being broadcasting only by CSN and not locally in dallas, so here to hope that the game will be available. I remember during last preseason mavs games not televised here in dallas were available via the opponents broadcast

I'm not SatRacer...but in my experience, the only league that works that way is the NHL. In the NBA and MLB packages, you can't watch out of market broadcasts of your local team, whether they are showing the game locally or not. I'd say Dish subscribers got lucky, and/or there is spotty enforcement of the policy in preseason.

I think pre-season is handled differently with the NBA. For instance, last night folks in the Blazer DMA *did* receive the Comcast W (Sacramento) Kings feed, while the game was not televised locally.

With that, We've also heard over the last several seasons that the Mav games, for whatever reason are occasionly blacked out. The times I can remember it was just the opposite, with the out of market folks unable to see the Mav's feed regardless who they were playing.

I live in slidell La hornets market and I had both mavs and rockets games
I live in Conroe and the Mavs game was blacked out for me at first, but I checked it again at halftime and it was on. I was able to watch the rest of the game.

Maybe your Zip in the Gorge is far enough away, but here in Lake Oswego, at least for me, Channel 698 was blacked out and I couldn't get the game.

The Mavs game was blacked out to me last night as well.
Why black out pre-season games? It's not like they will be losing alot of money by showing games for free during the pre-season
I was wondering the same thing. Plus it would be good to get the new OKC team some exposure.
Also why NO NBA TV HD during the free preview this sucks big time!
nba tv was in hd last night with the lakers game.
Its all working for me even the NBA League Pass channels and I am not a sub to League pass.
