I dont understand why Dish has a screensaver in the first place. If I turn off the tv you cant see it anyway. If you turn off the receiver and leave the tv on. Nothing would be there but a black screen if they didnt have it. I wish they would make a way to turn it off. I use a tivo connected to the 622. So I can record a show and transfer it with tivo desktop software to my ipod touch. Every once it a while it shows up with the screensaver instead of the show. I know I even set the 622 to record the show which it does. But that stupid screensaver showed up . Is there a way to turn it off ? If not anyone at dish to email about this matter.

No way to shut it off, but you can go the Inactivity Standby and shut that off. Hit Menu; Preferences: Inactivity Shutoff. The receiver has a default of four hours then goes to the screen saver, and this will leave the channel on. If you are recording the program, you can try recording the playback instead of live.
