All very true but if you like flipping between channels you can simulate the TiVo dual buffers by just pressing "R" while viewing one channel and then flip to the other one you like. Now, the show on "channel A" is being recorded and the show on "channel B" is being placed into the live buffer. To flip back and forth just press the PREVIOUS CHANNEL key on your remote. While watching either show you can rewind or do other fancy DVR things and your live buffer will not be erased.carl6 said:But to be clear, two tuners and one live buffer. The SD DVR can record one show while you watch another, or record two shows while you watch one of them, or record two shows while you watch something previously recorded.
But, there is only one live buffer. You can't toggle between the two tuners like you could on a Tivo. You do not control which tuner is used for what, the DVR does that automatically as needed.
