A friend I signed up in December wants to upgrade one of their receivers to an SD DVR. CSR wanted $99 for the DVR, $99 for installation, and $29 for activation.

I have never paid over $99 for a DVR upgrade! I realize that the days of DVR4U2 are over, but is this high of an upgrade charge common? Should they play CSR roulette?

Your not missing anything. It looks like BB dropped the price on the DVR's. They are now selling the HR21 for $169.99 like Costco always has.
