SD multiswitch ? HD install ?

I currently have four R10 units running off of a Dual LNB Dish through an 8 port multiswitch.
Every once in a while I get tiling and lose signal on one input or the other on one unit or another.
I have never been able to figure this out. When checked, all Sat transponders are 85 to 97 percent signal...
Anyone have any ideas?

Also, I am getting an HR20 installed Dec 26. I am trying to decide how to work the install, ie...
1)Leave current setup alone and add HD as separate assembly
2)Move one or two R10's over to new dish, but leave others on Dual LNB Dish
3)Move everything over to new dish (but then I would need 10 feeds opening a different can of worms...)

I am looking at leaving my Living room R10 in place and adding the HR20 so that if I have problems with the HR20 I have a backup already setup and running...

I think I will probably lean toward option 2 but any input is welcome.

Merry Christmas.

If you can beat a WB616 out of them now, you should do it. If you bring up the idea of having two dishes, I'm sure they will go that way and you'll still have the mysterious drop-out problem on the R10s; not to mention having two dishes cluttering up your landscape.
you can have all 90s on all transponders but theyre could be a line that is all rusted out...either a part of the line has been cut...the copper on the fitting rotted out along with the barrel or the port on the multiswitch or lnb rusted out as well....a technian's signal meter will read the same thing...the only thing that can detect rust is a digital volt meter....
about ur hr 20 situation...heres what u can do....two lines currently feed into your current 4x8 multiswitch to feed the 8 lines.....the new kaku 5lnb dish has a built in 4x4 multiswitch with 4 outputs....u could use the two existing lines feeding from the old dish and plug it into the new dish and have 2 straight lines going to the hr20....so u would have only one dish on the room and one multiswitch.

Possibly signal path, possibly corrosion on one or more connectors. Have you checked which tuner is being used, which transponder polarity, etc., when this happens?

I would, as an absolute minimum, have the installer pull 4 lines from the new dish to your common wiring area (where your current multiswitch is), and two lines from there to your HR20 location, and install a WB68 multiswitch. Once that is done, you can mix and match DVR to dish/multiswitch any way you want up to the limit of 8 outputs on the multiswitch.
