No. You should be able to just switch the two DVRs, run setup and you will be good to go, unless (as I did) you have a SWM and are running the R15 from the legacy ports, in which case you should run a single cable from a SWM port (or via a splitter) to the SWM port on the HR21.

They are either black or grey adapters that go between the SAT lines and the tuners on the receiver. They allow you to receive the national MPEG4 HD channels. If they are not in the box you need to call DIRECTV and they will ship them to you for free.

Yes, everything will work fine except you will get a searching for signal message on the national MPEG4 HD channels. All other channels will be fine.

The B-Band Converters are the little boxes that allow the receiver to tune in the Ka Low band signals.

Also, you must have the correct multiswitch (and dish). If you are using an older 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x multiswitch it must be replaced with a Zinwell WB68 6x8 multiswitch.
