by design, its supposed to search the "channels i receive" list, but since they had some problems implementing that feature (RSNs caused some problems) all channels are in that list. i would guess that somewhere down the line they plan on fixing that feature so that "channels i receive" only contains channels that you pay for and receive, thus limiting your search to only valid channels.
