The CSR is right. Per D*'s RSN/team lookup tool you're in the market of every team in California, but NOT the Mariners. Looks like you need MLBEI for them.billt721 said:

I thought I was previously, as well, but now I'm stumped.
Anyway, I live on the big island on Hawaii. According to MLB.com, I'm in the home territory on every team on the west coast (my zip code is 96749 if anyone wants to check), including the Mariners, so I can't watch their games live on MLB.tv. However, since I'm in their home territory, I thought I'd be able to watch the games on ROOT Sports NW via Directv. So I signed up, got it installed today, watched the pregame show, and then was blacked out once the game started. I called Directv and they told me that I am NOT in the Mariners home market, and thus am blacked out on their service. So who's right here? Are both of them? Does MLB have a different blackout rule for internet and TV, thus making it impossible for me to watch the games at all?
Yeah, I looked at that before coming here, and that's why this is so confusing. Prior to this season, that's exactly how MLB.tv treated me. I was blacked out from CA teams but could watch the Mariners live. In the offseason they added Hawaii to the Mariners 'home territory' so that MLB.tv won't work.Coca Cola Kid said:The CSR is right. I wonder if Directv isn't aware that Hawaii was added to the M's home territory? You might try contacting Directv (via the website rather than calling a CSR).billt721 said:Yeah, I looked at that before coming here, and that's why this is so confusing. Blackouts for cable are determined by where the headend is."Jimmy 440" said:I live 119 miles from Philadelphia & get 100% of the Phillies games on D.
On Comcast Cable here,100% of the Phillies games are BLACKED OUT on
EI,MLBN & ESPNs.Satellite & cable obviously play by seperate rules !
Many years ago,the Flyers (NHL) & the Phillies sent my local Comcast cable an
official letter that they do NOT claim my zip code.It didn't help.So I moved to D.
Moral to my story, blackout rules are archaic & they should all be revised or better yet ELIMINATED !
