I have beeen considering adding the additional locals that are availble through 129. I have heard two things....
A second dish will be installed (not for me!) or they install a new egg shaped dish that receives from all three sats. Anyone know for sure what is being done?

Also, in early spring DISH offered the upgrade and was swamped. Has the wait time been reduced??

That is my question. I was led to believe that DISH had designed a new egg shapped dish slightly larger than the 500 dish that would receive 110, 119 & 129. I have a chimney mount for my 500 that has worked well. If it is true, then I would request the new dish. If they want to add another dish I need to think about it. Chimney mount is the only option I would consider and I am not sure I want two dishes on the chimney.

I figure that it would be the same shape as the Primestar shaped oval dish DirecTv uses called ParaTodos. One could use that dish I would think for getting 110, 119, 129. Maybe one could get the dish to work for 101, 110, 119, 129 which would be 29 total degress (15 each direction) and if you could get it to work for that then you could get it to work for 93, 95, 97, 101, 110, 119 as well, but I dont know if you can get an extra orbital slot with the dish like you could get a directv 101 signal on a dish 500 110/119 signal.

For custs like you who want the extra Philly locals they put up a .75M dish, a medium sized elliptical antenna identical to what is used by StarBand custs. This is necessary because the signal from 129 is lower in power.

I believe they set it up with 3 LNBFs for 129, 119 & 110. Some custs also have another dish for 61.5.

Maybe I was dreaming back in May but at that time I scheduled to have a second dish installed. Installation date came and went with no installation. I was told that they were out of "supplies", a different dish would be used that read all three sats and the mfr. ran out. So in my mind I have been under the impression that only one dish would be used, just a different shape. My email was just to confirm before I tried again. I know I can call DISH but history has taught me not to trust what I hear from CS.

I believe that the DISH you refer to Skates was for 101, 100 amd 119. That is not the application here.

I'm assuming you mean 101, "110" & 119.

Aside from the 129 degree question, I see people speculating on the shape of the new dish & what satellites it will pick up. I was answering those questions. At the moment, you still need a separate dish for 61.5, 129 or 148 even if you get the new triple-lnb dish.
