As I was deleting all my series links from the satellite locals and switching them over to OTA locals, I ran into a problem when there were no upcoming episodes for a show. It was found in the search, but since there were no upcoming episodes, I couldn't pick a show and set up a series link. Is there any way to do this? Or will I have to wait until the show is on again?

Series Links with no episodes listed can be deleted from the prioritzer using the -- delete method. Then you could add the Series from the guide by the double R.

What if you want to edit the SL? I've got a couple that I'd like to change some options on, but with no upcoming episodes listed, I don't appear to be able to select them to update....

When was the last Reset you've done? I believe it has to rebuild the guide for about 24 hours before more will show up. I know mine takes some time as most shows are TBA or REGULAR SCHEDULE or the like.

I've thought this needed to be fixed as well. Makes no sense to not be able to edit a SL without an upcoming episode.

Yep, what he said! I've come across the same "issue"
In addition to being able to modify a series link with no upcoming episodes, I can't find a way to ADD a series link with no upcoming shows within the next 2 weeks.

I think this is more of an issue now, because many of the programs are on "break" for the holidays. But still... I'd like to set up my series links for "The Sopranos" and "Entourage" etc. which do not have any new episodes for months.

I understand what you're saying now... Same problem here, I just had to keep checking back - the RECENT SEARCHES selection comes in quite handy for that. It's still a bit sensitive from what I understand so put in a "THE" if it's there and try several different ways the title may be under. That's all I can think of.

I too would like to be able to do this, but it does not appear to be possible. My old Replay TV allowed this as well as my old Tivo...

Think about it folks, how can you set a SL if there are no episodes that the guide knows about? As far as the guide is concerned, the show never existed. As far as the guide can tell, the show could have been broadcast 20 years or 20 days ago, but it doesn't exist. My TiVo worked the same way. I had to wait for there to be one episode of the show in the guide before I could set a SP on it.

The second flaw mentioned is a LOT more serious. It seems that once you set a SP in TiVO, it's universal for all episodes for that SP whether an episode existed or not. For example, if I set a SP for Heroes, even though there are no existing episodes for Heroes right now, I can go and change the way the series records (when to delete, padding, etc.) On the HR20, it seems that to change any setting, it is based on an episode you choose. Once you go into that existing episode, if there's a SL, then you can change the settings for either that episode or the whole SL, but it HAS to based on SOME episode. Think of it as a computer, where you want to change a whole folder's settings and have it affect everything in the folder. You wouldn't want to go INTO the folder and have to change ONE file in order to change ALL of the folder options. That's silly.

Another flaw with the SL is that if you initially set your SL on a repeat, even though you insist on recording only First Run, it will record that first repeat you based your SL on. AND, I've found, if you go and delete that first repeat, it deletes your WHOLE SL. Try it and see if you get the same results. Since most of the series I have are in repeat mode for the holidays, I was able to find this bug because most of my SL were based on the first episoe being a repeat.

Would you all pelase weigh in with this over at the Wish List Forum?

This is an important feature that is lacking in the HR20. Click the link below.

Has this been added to the survey? I'll revote if that is the case.

I can already hear the official reply: "Oh, that's not in our spec!"
