This might be related.. but I was having a HECK of a time trying to get a series record to set... and then after trying in a few different ways many times... I found that in my prioritizer that I HAD ALREADY SET IT!

Since I had already set it... the R just appeared and disapeared with every record click.

perhaps this is your issue?
