I noticed that even though I have set up series recording for Sesame Street with "Both" and "Keep All Episodes", when I go to upcoming recordings list, I see only Monday and Tuesday (today is Sunday) episodes set for recording. Why are the rest of the week's episodes not set for recording?

How long ago did you setup the recording? If it was within the past day give it some time to populate the list (it can take up to 24 hours).

If you have had it set for quite some time and it's missing recordings check your history log and search on "Blue's Clues". The HR2X series seems to have problems recording daily children's shows often returning an error (13).

I have set it up long time back. It was recording a lot of episodes, and up to this week I had not paid attention to whether it was recording all the episodes or not.

But since last week I noticed that there were not too many new episodes being recorded and that's when I realized there may be something strange going on.

There are no errors in the history, but going through the history another thought struck me - could it be that the upcoming episodes that are not set for recording, were recorded earlier and deleted by me? Does the DVR have the intelligence that if the same episode (not sure how it recognizes "same" but let's say it can) was deleted in the past, that it would not record it again?

The DVR will not record an episode that you have recorded in the last 28 days. One thing you can look at is to go into the Prioritizer and see how many episodes of Sesame Street it is seeing to record. Then select Sesame Street and check out the upcoming episodes. See if the episodes have titles or are just labeled "Sesame Street". I've found a lot of times that when the episodes are just titled "Sesame Street", that the DVR does not like to record them. Any episode that is going to be recorded will have the R) icon next to it in the episode list.

There are also series that I had that just stopped recording altogether (The Wiggles was on). It was in the prioritizer and there were new shows being broadcast, but it was like the HR20 didn't see the SL at all. Unfortunately, deleting the SL didn't help and it took a full system reset (delete everything) to get it to work again. Do that as an absolute resort obviously.

When trying to figure out the Blue's Clues thing we did see a lot of what The Merg suggests...shows with no episode title.

It is seeing 7 episodes to record in the upcoming 2 weeks. So it is missing 3 episodes in the middle ("missing" = not scheduling them to be recorded).

So I think those 3 may have been recorded in the past 28 days, so that does make sense.

Thanks all! I feel a bit better now :)

Hi there, I saw this thread and figured you folks would have an answer since it's in the same ballpark. I didn't want to start a new one!

I am new to D and the way it records. When I set up a recording, for say, Stargate Atlantis and tell it only new episodes. Does this mean it will record only the new season 2008 or is it classified as 'new to the dvr' and will record all Stargate episodes and not record something I already have on the unit. I.E. Stuff from 2004 would be recorded.

New should only record shows that have never been broadcast before. It's risky to do though as the guide data DirecTV sends has often had errors. I'm not saying it won't work, but sometimes it's better to use BOTH and delete the unwanted episodes if you don't want to miss one.
