Is SET India available on another satellite than Dish Network, also will DirecTV ever re-offer this channel to its former customers (w/o a merger)? Do they have space or are they out of space for this type channel. Dish Network continues to gain more net subscribers than Directv and partly is because of international programming such as this channel. I'd prefer getting it from another satellite, not Dish. Picture is very poor, and I cant stand Dish but they are the only company carrying this channel except ITV premium service which is not available where I am. I figure Directv can offer DD World also, and make a competing package against Dish but it seems Directv lost interest in international along time ago, instead their parent company is focusing on a merger and local channels mostly with a few new HD additions.

Sony Entertainment TV is what I assume you are referring to. I believe it is available on Dish Network on channel 614.

Are you kidding? Have you read any of the Dish Network posts? They (Dish) are 100% fixated on the merger. Every sentence out of Charlie's mouth has the word merger in it. Dish is busy adding locals in markets where key politicians live, such as Tucson, Waco and Burlington, while hosing those in Memphis, Baltimore, and Columbus. Directv is still running their business the same as if there was no merer pending. International programming has always been a strong suit of E*, just as sports programming is a strong suit of D*. If D* doesn' t have the programming package you want, don't get it. It is the same as me getting E* and then pissing and moaning that they don't have NFLST. Pretty simple. Get the programming that meets your needs. Don't spread FUD, though.
