alright, so im having this problem...i can get signal on locked on 110w but i cant get locked on 118/119...it has signal, its saying "wrong Sat-echostar 110w" what could this mean? i have a dish 500+ with the built-in lnb and a vip 211k...i will eventually get HD by adding the 129 to my 500+ dish?

Set your skew before you find 110, setting it at zero moves both lnb's, when you readjust that much is pretty much like starting over as the angle of the arm along the dish is what will tune in the sat. Note that 0 is not 0, 90 is.

one more question...is the dpp44 required for my setup if i went for 4 birds(110/119/118.7/129) this would make my 500+ an 1000+...and i am wondering if i would be able to do that without the dpp44 switch...i have a vip 211k receiver

If you have the new version with the built-in switch, there's no need for a DPP44 until you add a 4th receiver.

The signal strength is around 95 and on 12 transponder...should i have my skew at 0 and find 110 then adjust it to get 119? i live in 01069.
You're not looking at the right satellite - my signal strength on a properly aimed dish on 110 TP 12 is 17. Your elevation is probably off.

Make sure your mast (pole) is plumb (level both ways) before you try pointing. If it's not plumb, then the settings are meaningless because they assume the mount is plumb.

Try finding 119 first, this is always the easiest because it is the satellite in the middle of the range you're trying to pick up. What kind of meter are you using? What port are you connecting to on the LNB?

the mast is plumb but i still cant find it..i tried two different places but i have another place in mind and ill try it there tomorrow...i used to get 119 on my old 500 dish but the elevation as a lil higher then the 500+..i think ill either extend the pole on the mast or find a higher location on my roof.
